Over his 33-year career, Dr Huda has carried out a wide range of research activities at the 3 MW TRIGA Mark-II Research Reactor in Savar, including theoretical studies, heat transfer and safety analysis, and experimental work to assess the quality of shielding materials. He has also been involved in nuclear power plant code design, burn-up analysis, and the determination of safety parameters.

Dr Huda obtained his BSc in Physics in 1986 and MSc in Physics in 1987 from the University of Dhaka. He later earned a PhD in Reactor Physics from Jahangirnagar University.

He has published around 80 research papers in national and international journals.

Dr Md Khairul Islam
Distinguished nuclear scientist Dr Md Khairul Islam served as Director of the Physical Sciences Division at the headquarters of the Bangladesh Atomic Energy Commission prior to assuming office as Member (Planning) of the Commission.
He obtained his BSc (Honours) and MSc (Thesis) degrees in Physics from the University of Rajshahi, securing third position in the First Class in both examinations. He later earned a PhD in Fusion Plasma Physics from the University of Tsukuba, Japan, in 1999.

Dr Islam further strengthened his research career by completing a post-doctoral fellowship at the University of Tsukuba from 2003 to 2005, and subsequently served there as an Associate Professor during 2005-2006.
