CU VC mourns Khaleda Zia's demise

Chittagong University (CU) Vice-Chancellor (VC) Professor Muhammad Yahya Akhtar has expressed deep shock following the death of former Prime Minister Begum Khaleda Zia.

CU authorities have decided to observe three days of mourning, from December 31 to January 2, for the death of former Prime Minister and BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia.

This information was given in a press release signed by the university's Deputy Registrar (Information and Photography) Khandaker Moazzem Hossain, on Tuesday afternoon.

A general holiday has been declared at the university on Wednesday. Moreover, academic and administrative activities will be closed on that day.

CU VC prayed for the eternal peace of the departed soul and expressed deep condolences to her family members.

It is noteworthy that Begum Khaleda Zia passed away at 6:00 AM on Tuesday while undergoing treatment at Evercare Hospital in the capital. She was 80 years old.
