JU VC mourns death of Osman Hadi

Jahangirnagar University (JU) Vice-Chancellor (VC) Professor Dr Mohammad Kamrul Ahsan has expressed deep condolences over the death of Sharif Osman Hadi, spokesperson of Inqilab Mancha and a key leader of the July mass uprising.

In a condolence message issued on Friday, the VC described Hadi’s killing as a profound loss to the country’s political and democratic landscape, noting that his vision, patriotism and stand against domination would continue to inspire the nation.

He urged unity in upholding democracy, justice and people’s rights, and conveyed sympathy to the bereaved family while praying for the departed soul.
Marking the loss, Jahangirnagar University has declared Saturday a day of mourning and decided to fly the national flag at half-mast.
