Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) has arrested an individual in connection with the double murder that took place in front of the Khulna court premises.
RAB-6 Commander Lieutenant Colonel Md Nistar Ahmed disclosed the information at a press conference on Thursday afternoon.
The arrested individual has been identified as Md Ejajul Hossain, son of Faruk Hossain, a resident of Aichgati union in Rupsha upazila of the district.
The Commander said on November 30, Fazle Rabbi Rajan, 30, and Hasib Hawladar, 40, were shot and hacked to death in broad daylight in front of the main gate of the Khulna metropolitan court complex. Immediately after the incident, a RAB-6 team visited the scene, collected evidence, and gathered CCTV footage and mobile phone videos related to the killings.
On Wednesday around 5:30 AM, RAB arrested Ejajul Hossain from his home. He was directly visible in mobile video footage of the incident.
During preliminary interrogation, the arrested accused confessed to his involvement in the double murder and disclosed the names of seven others who were directly involved in the killings.
