Man held with hemp in B’baria

Police arrested a suspected drug peddler along with hemp from Bijoynagar upazila of Brahmanbaria district on Tuesday.

The arrested is identified as Md Shanto Mia, 25, a resident of Uthariya Para village under Singerbil union in the upazila.

Acting on a tip-off, a team of police officials conducted a raid in the area at around 2:45 AM and arrested Shanto along with 8 kilograms of hemp from his possession.
Confirming the incident, Bijoynagar Police Station officer-in-charge (OC) said that a case has been filed under the Narcotics Control Act and the arrested has been sent to court for further legal procedures.
