Two customs officials narrowly escaped an armed attack after miscreants assaulted their car in the CDA Residential Area under Doublemooring Police Station in Chattogram district on Thursday morning.
According to sources, the attack occurred at around 10:30 AM when Chittagong Customs Revenue Officer Md Asaduzzaman Khan and Assistant Revenue Officer (ARO) Badrul Arefin were on their way to the office. Attackers also threatened to shoot them during the incident.
“As we were driving, three men on a motorcycle suddenly blocked our car,” said Revenue Officer Asaduzzaman Khan. “They immediately began smashing the car’s windows. One of them repeatedly ordered the others, ‘Shoot, shoot.’ We managed to escape and ran into a nearby alley to save our lives.”
Following the incident, police visited the spot to collect evidence.
Chattogram Metropolitan Police (CMP)’s Assistant Police Commissioner of Doublemooring Zone Khairul Basar said that police officials inspected the scene and attackers will be identified after a proper investigation.
Earlier, on October 6, Asaduzzaman Khan had filed a general diary (GD) with Bandar Police Station after receiving death threats.
