A man was killed and another injured in a head-on collision between a covered van and a CNG-run autorickshaw in Betbunia Chairman Ghata area of Rangamati district on Wednesday afternoon.
The deceased was CNG driver Hasan Mia, 22, son of Md. Jahangir Hossain, a resident of Lalmohan, Barishal. He was going to Chattogram from Rangamati with raw materials.
The accident took place on the Chattogram-Rangamati road when a covered van collided head-on with a CNG-run auto rickshaw, leaving the CNG driver and its passenger injured, said Inspector Md. Ishaq of Kawkhali Police Outpost.
The injured were taken to Raozan Hospital in critical condition, where the doctor on duty declared Hasan dead.
