Chief of Army Staff of the Bangladesh Army, General Waker-Uz-Zaman, has urged all concerned to perform their duties with professionalism, impartiality, discipline, patience, and citizen-friendly conduct.
He made the remarks while exchanging views with senior military officers, various law enforcement agencies, and civil administration officials at the Bangladesh Institute of Administration and Management (BIAM) Foundation Regional Center in Cox's Bazar.
A similar meeting was later held at the conference room of the Sylhet District Administration, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) Directorate said on Thursday evening.
As part of his countrywide visit, General Waker on Thursday visited Cox's Bazar and Sylhet, focusing on the upcoming 13th Jatiya Sangsad (JS) elections and the referendum scheduled for February 12.
During the meetings, discussions focused on inter-institutional coordination and overall security management to ensure a fair, peaceful, and impartial conduct of the upcoming national polls, the ISPR noted.
The army chief also emphasized that army personnel deployed under 'In Aid to the Civil Power' must maintain professionalism and neutrality, providing them with necessary guidance.
During his visits, General Waker was accompanied by the General Officer Commanding of the Army Training and Doctrine Command, the GOC of 10 Infantry Division and Cox's Bazar Area Commander, the Air Commander of Bangladesh Air Force Base at Cox's Bazar, the Military Secretary of the Army, the SI&T Commandant, the GOC of 17 Infantry Division, Sylhet Area and Army Headquarters and Cox's Bazar Area senior military officers, divisional commissioners, senior officers of the civil administration and law enforcement agencies, and representatives of various media outlets.
