Indian Parliament honours Khaleda Zia

Both houses of the Indian Parliament—Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha—paid tribute to Begum Khaleda Zia, former Prime Minister of Bangladesh and BNP Chairperson, in a solemn session on Friday.

Lawmakers remembered her historic role as the first female Prime Minister of Bangladesh and highlighted her efforts in strengthening bilateral ties between India and Bangladesh.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, along with members of both Houses, observed a moment of silence, offering condolences to her bereaved family and expressing solidarity with the people of Bangladesh.
