CHATTOGRAM, Jan. 30: MV "Banglar Nobojatra", the seventh ship of the state-owned Bangladesh Shipping Corporation (BSC) has been handed over to BSC on Thursday last at Jingjiang Nanyang Shipyard, China.
Representatives of Ministry of Shipping, BSC Team, Nanyang Shipyard Management, Members of Class (LR), and Representatives of Seller were present in the delivery programme.
Commercial employment of the ship will commence from Sunday next.
The delivery programme marked the culmination of the acquisition of two own financed vessels for BSC (BANGLAR PROGOTI and BANGLAR NABOJATRA).
Managing Director of BSC Commodore Mahmudul Malek confirmed the handing over ceremony of the vessels.
Earlier the BSC owned the sixth vessel MV Banglar Progoti which arrived in Chattogram on December last year.
Besides, these two ships, BSC has initiated the process to procure three more new ships with government funds by March next increasing the fleet to ten.
