Jatiyo Nagorik Party (NCP) candidate Akhtar Hossain expressed confidence on Thursday that he would secure a decisive win in the Rangpur-4 (Kaunia-Pirgachha) constituency in the upcoming February 12 elections.
Speaking after a campaign meeting at Khopati village in Balapara union, Akhtar cited the overwhelming response from voters during his door-to-door outreach, saying, “Insha’Allah, the ‘Shapla Koli’ symbol will win Rangpur-4 decisively.”
He also voiced concern over attacks on his party workers in various parts of the constituency and questioned the neutrality of law enforcement agencies. Akhtar demanded swift action against those responsible for assaults on NCP and Jamaat-e-Islami activists in Pirgachha upazila.
Calling for peaceful political practices, he urged all parties to uphold the culture of a “new Bangladesh” and stop political violence spreading across the country.
Jamaat-e-Islami Kaunia upazila Ameer Abdus Salam Sarkar, NCP Rangpur district joint coordinator Abu Reza, Kaunia upazila chief coordinator Saidul Islam and other party leaders attended the meeting.
