RAB re-arrests 3 murder suspects mistakenly freed from M’singh jail

Rapid Action Battalion (RAB-14) has arrested three murder case suspects on Thursday night, who were inadvertently released from Mymensingh Central Jail without bail.

The arrested were identified as Md Anis Mia, Rashedul Islam and Zakirul Islam, residents of Tarati village under Tarakanda Police Station area in Mymensingh district.

According to sources, the trio had been mistakenly released from Mymensingh Central Jail on Tuesday evening, despite no official bail orders being issued. The administrative error sparked criticism of jail management and oversight. Following the incident, Deputy Jailer Zakaria Imtiaz was suspended for negligence.
Later, RAB-14 officials detained the trio at around 11:00 PM from Ghatail upazila of Tangail district.

A RAB-14 media officer said further details regarding the arrests would be announced at a forthcoming press briefing.
