US envoy calls on Army chief

US Ambassador to Bangladesh Brent Christensen has paid a courtesy call on Army Chief Gen Waker-Uz-Zaman.

The meeting was held at the Army Headquarters on Thursday, according to a post on the Bangladesh Army's official Facebook page.

Christensen led a delegation during the visit.

The two sides exchanged greetings and discussed ways to further deepen the cordial relations between Bangladesh and the United States, the post said.

Christensen, who previously served as political and economic counsellor at the US Embassy in Dhaka four years ago, arrived in Bangladesh on Jan 12 to take up his role as ambassador. �"bdnews24
