Sheikh Hasina-led Awami League government is now in the intensive care unit (ICU), BNP's senior joint secretary general Ruhul Kabir Rizvi has said.

"This government's prime minister has nothing to do. Her government is now on the death-bed. The Awami League government has gone to the ICU. They are losing friends both at home and abroad gradually," he said while speaking at a rally before a colourful procession brought out on the occasion of party's 45th founding anniversary in the capital.
Rizvi said the government has started implicating an internationally renowned person like Professor Muhammad Yunus in false cases though the renowned economist had brought great honour for Bangladesh and brightened the image of the country around the world.

"The Awami League government is now full of thieves. Ministers and MPs around the government are involved in stealing and looting," he said.

Referring to the Prime Minister's advice to preserve eggs in freeze after boiling and using green chilli after drying up, Rizvi said Sheikh Hasina has now become a nutritionist.

"She (prime minister) has advised not to eat burgers of meat. She advised to eat burgers of jackfruit. She also suggested not to eat beguni made up of brinjal. Rather, she advised to eat begunis made up of sweet gourd. Now, all the nutritionists who acquired higher degrees from universities have gone on retirement. Sheikh Hasina has now become a nutritionist, because she has no legality. She has started giving menus whatever she likes. She has destroyed everything," Rizvi said.

The BNP leader said, "This government has killed many of ours young leaders and workers like Jonny. They have looted banks and involved in reserve heist. They have not untouched anything else. Not only it, a Mohila Awami League leader was caught red-handed after stealing cattle of a farmer in Manikganj."

He said BNP has passed 45 years after its founding. Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina should observe that thousands of people have joined the BNP's rally in the capital today. Bangladesh Chhatra League is also holding a rally at Suhrawardy Udyan where people were brought from across the country spending crores of taka.

Urging the party leaders and workers to become united to bring democracy back to the country again, the BNP leader said,"We may have to pay the price very dearly for it. But, we have no alternative but to throw a final hit at this illegal government. You go back home with this firm determination in mind."

Dhaka City South BNP convener Abdus Salam presided over the rally. It was attended by BNP standing committee members Dr Abdul Moyeen Khan, Nazrul Islam Khan, vice-chairman Abdul Awal Minto, Shamsuzzaman Dudu, chairperson's adviser Amanullah Aman, Zahurul Huque, Shahjada Mia, BNp organising secretary Abdus Salam Azad, Jubo Dal president Sultan Salahuddin Tuku, Swecchasebak Dal general secretary Rajib Ahsan, and Chhatra Dal general secretary Saif Mahmud Jewel, among others.
