‘Smart Mutation’ in offing

The Ministry of Land is planning to introduce Smart Mutation for the benefit of the people.

It will the 2nd generation mutation system for the  people in Bangladesh, said officials.

A demonstration of the Smart Mutation system was showcased on Saturday at Bhumi Bhaban in the capital. Attending the event, Land Secretary Khalilur Rahman witnessed the systems capabilities.

Among others, Chairman of Land Reform Board Abdus Sabur Mondal, officials from the ministry and its subordinate offices and agencies, and officials from field-level land offices attended event.

According to the ministry officials, the initiative was taken on instruction from Land Minister Saifuzzaman Chowdhury to develop the system to facilitate mutation more easily, quickly, and safely, according to a ministry press release.

Following the demonstration, land officials  provided constructive feedback, which will be meticulously incorporated in developing the Smart Mutation system.

Leveraging the experience gained from the current 1st generation e-mutation system, which has been in operation for almost last 6 years, the Smart Mutation system has been developed with inputs from all the stakeholders, including land service recipients, providers, and developers.

Salient features of the artificial intelligence technology-enabled smart mutation system include  user-centric design, seamless integration with essential services, automation, efficient workflow management, critical analytics and reporting, robust digital security, and commitment to an open data governance policy.

The Smart Mutation system will be integrated into the Smart Land Service portal (https://land.gov.bd/), to replace the existing E-Mutation, it said.
