It's the first time they contacted with the vessel owners.
Mizanul Islam, media advisor of KSRM Group, said, "The pirates contacted us through a third party this afternoon for the first time. They did not say about ransome money. A contact has been established. It is a very sensitive issue."
The ship is owned by KSRM Group's 'SR Shipping'.
Pirates anchored the hijacked ship, carrying 23 sailors, around 500 nautical miles off the Somalian coast.
The ship was hijacked by Somalin pirates in the Indian Ocean on March 12.
