Negligence in providing treatment will not be tolerated:Minister

The negligence of doctors while providing treatment to the patients will not be tolerated, said
Health and Family Welfare Minister Dr Samanta Lal Sen on Sunday.

He urged the doctors to show highest professionalism while performing their duties and any kind of negligence will not be tolerated.
The minister told this at an orientation ceremony of the newly appointed officers of the 41st BCS (Health) and BCS (Family Planning) cadre at the Bangamata Sheikh Fazilatunnesa Mujib Convention Hall of the Bangandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University in the capital on Sunday. 

Samanta Lal said he will extend all cooperation for the well-being of the medical professionals at the same time, he is expecting good behaviors of doctors towards service-seeking people of the country.

He said, “I am a minister both for physicians and patients. I will neither tolerate any attack on doctors nor their negligence towards patients” .

Director General (DG) of the Directorate General of the Health Services (DGHS) Md Khurshid Alam and DG of Directorate of Family Welfare Sahan Ara Banu, among others, were present at the function.  

During the orientation programme, 103 assistant surgeons, 171 assistant dental surgeons, and 153 family planning officers joined as the 41st BCS Health and Family Welfare cadres.
