Counter Terrorism and Transnational Crime (CTTC) has pressed charges against Paris-based Bangladeshi writer and online activist Pinaki Bhattacharya and former JCD leader Mofizur Rahman in a case filed under the Digital Security Act (DSA).

CTTC SI KM Abdullahill Maruf on October 15, 2022, filed the case against Pinaki and two others with Ramna Police Station.

CTTC SI Mohammad Rahat Hossain, also the investigation officer of the case, submitted the chargesheet to a Dhaka court on March 7, but the information was revealed today.
The investigation officer said the case has now been transferred to Dhaka's Cyber Tribunal for trial.

As Pinaki Bhattacharya is absconding, a request was also filed to issue an arrest warrant against him.

The two other accused in the case are Mofizur Rahman Ashiq, former joint secretary of Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal (JCD), and Mushfiqul Fazal Ansari.

Pinaki and Mofizur Rahman were sued on charges of conspiracy and tarnishing the image of the state.
