Ruling Awami League (AL) and Jaitya Party (JP) on Sunday submitted nomination papers of 50 reserved seats to the Election Commission (EC).
AL General Secretary Obaidul Quader and Jatiya Party Secretary General Mujibul Haque Chunnu submitted the nomination papers.
Quader submitted 48 nomination papers, 47 of Awami League and one of 14-party alliance.
Chunnu submitted nomination papers of its two nominees.
Later, Quader told reporters "BNPs movement is nothing but a cock and bull story. We have no headache about them. Movement cannot be created by a few parties."
Asked if the AL has any plan to ban BNP as Jubo League demanded, Quader said A L has no such plan.
He said, if a Chhatra League leader demands ban BNP, "Will we jump with him?"
"Let them say what they want. Jubo League is speaking from its point of view. AL never raised the issue."
He said, there was no issue of movement in the country before or after the election.
BNP made a mistake by opting for negative politics for which it is now stuck in quicksand, he said.
Responding to a question whether the Jatiya Party can be the opposition party with 13 MPs, Quader said, "There is no obstacle to make parliament interactive."
Chunnu said his party would be a strong and effective opposition in parliament.
JP nominated Advocate Salma Islam for the reserved seat in Dhaka and Nurunnahar Begum in Thakurgaon.
Chunnu said Jatiya Party saved democracy by joining the polls.
