7-day lockdown in Bagerhat from Thursday

In the wake of a sudden spike in COVID-19 cases in Bagerhat, the district administration has imposed a seven-day lockdown here.

Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Azizur Rahman announced this on Wednesday at COVID-19 Protection Committee meeting.

He said the seven-day strict lockdown from June 24-30 was imposed in the district to prevent the transmission of the Indian variant of COVID-19.

On Wednesday, the district recorded 60 more cases of Covid-19, with the positivity rate over 44 per cent.

Inter-district transport services will be suspended during this time while emergency services are out of this order.
