Chinese man hospitalized in city

A Chinese national affected with fever and cough has admitted at a hospital in Dhaka.

The hospital authorities have shifted him to specialized room at the hospital on Monday noon amid fear of deadly Coronavirus.

Institute of Epidemiology Disease Control And Research (IEDCR) director Meerzadi Sebrina told a Bengali daily that, “We heard about the patient. The cough sample from the patient is yet to be collected.”

An official of the hospital said, “A Chinese citizen came to the hospital at about 2.30pm to receive treatment. We found fever, cough and dyspnoea in his health tests. He is now receiving treatment at a special room as per the government order.”

The patient came from China to Dhaka from January 18-20, according to the hospital authorities.
