3 school girls gangraped in Tangail

Miscreants have allegedly gangraped three schoolgirls at a dense forest in Ghatail upazila of Tangail.

The girls were rescued from Satkoa forest in the upazila of Sunday night.

A case has been filed accusing 5/7 unknown persons.
According to the case statement, four students of a local school alongwith their two male friends went to visit Satkoa forest from their school on Sunday.

A group of miscreants abducted them in the evening on their way to home. They took the girls to a dense forest and demanded ransom from their families.

As the families denied giving them money, the miscreants violated three girls and assaulted another, and then fled the scene.

The victims took shelter to a nearby house and informed their families. Later, police rescue them at 11pm.

The two friends who were with the girls also went into hiding.

The school's head teacher said the four students did not join the doa mahfil and farewell held for the SSC examinees on Sunday.

"I've heard that they went to visit somewhere else instead of coming to school," he said.

Ghatail police OC Maksudul Alam said an abduction and rape was filed in this connection.

The victims have been sent to Tangail General Hospital for medical tests.
