Jatiya Party candidate's nomination valid in Gopalganj-2

GOPALGANJ, Jan 16: Following the order by the Supreme Court's High Court Division, the nomination paper scrutiny process was held in the District Administrator's conference room at 10 am on Friday.

During this, District Administrator Md Arif-Uz-Zaman declared the nomination paper of Jatiya Party candidate for Gopalganj-2 constituency Riaz Sarwar Molla as valid.

Candidate Riaz Molla stated that on the day of submitting his nomination papers, the District Returning Officer did not accept his papers on the designated day due to a late submission of one document.

Consequently, he filed a writ petition at the Supreme Court's High Court Division. Following this, the District Returning Officer declared his candidacy valid on Thursday.

The candidate, his supporters, the District Election Officer, and media personnel were present at the time.
