Mother, daughter found dead in Dohar

DOHAR, May 9: Police have recovered the bodies of a mother and her toddler daughter from their house in Dohar Upazila in Dhaka.

The bodies were sent to the Sir Salimullah Medical College (Mitford) Hospital on Thursday for an autopsy.
The dead were identified as Kajal Akter, 25, wife of migrant Sirajul Sheikh and her one-and-a-half-year-old daughter Tabassum. They were natives of Harichandi in Bilashpur Union.
Kajal was a housewife and her husband has lived in Saudi Arabia for the last few years, said Sub-Inspector Mintu Lashkar of Dohar Police Station. Kajal lived with her mother-in-law and two daughters Tabassum and Khadija, 6.

"On Wednesday afternoon, Kajal locked herself and Tabassum in her bedroom. Then she didn open the door for a long time. Her mother-in-law called her several times, but she didn respond. The neighbours were suspicious and they informed the police. We recovered the bodies around 4:30pm."
