Gold Price reduced

Bangladesh Jewelers Association (BAJUS) has revised gold rates in the country for eighth times in last 11 days.

In the latest revision on Sunday, the price of gold has dropped by Tk 315 per bhori. As a result, the price of per bhori gold of 22 carat has declined to Tk 112,616 from around Tk1,19,300.

Reducing the price of gold further, BAJUS issued a circular on Sunday and sent it to the media. Masudur Rahman, Chairman of the BAJUS Price Determination and Price Monitoring Standing Committee, signed circular.
According to the BAJUS announcement, this new price of gold will be effective from Sunday.

Earlier, on April 18, the price of gold rose to a record Tk 119,638. From there on April 20, the price decreased to Tk 118,780. On April 21, the price of gold increased by Tk 648 to Tk 119,428. But on April 23, the price of gold fell to Tk 116,290.

On April 24, the price of gold decreased by Tk 114,191. And on April 25, the price of gold was fixed at Tk 113,561. Even on April 26, the price of gold decreased by Tk 630 to Tk 112,931.

According to the BAJUS notification, the price of pure gold has decreased in the local market. Therefore, taking into account the overall situation, the new price of gold has been fixed in the meeting of the standing committee for price determination and price monitoring of BAJUS.

According to the new announcement of BAJUS, from April 28, it will cost Tk 112,616 to buy good quality 22 carat gold (11.664 grams). Apart from this, the price of 21 carat gold has been fixed at Tk 107,495. 18 carat per bhari will cost Tk 92,146 and traditional method per bhari is priced at Tk 76,632.

However, BAJUS did not make any announcement to increase or decrease the price of silver on this day. According to the previous announcement, the price of 22 carat silver is Tk 2,100, 21 carat silver is Tk 2,006, 18 carat silver is Tk 1,715 and traditional silver is Tk 1,283.

Bangladesh Jewelers Association re-fixed the price of gold on April 27.
