Uncle ‘kills’ nephew in Narayanganj over fishing



A man was killed allegedly by his uncle and cousins over a dispute of catching fish at Rupganj  upazila in Narayanganj district.

Nurul Haque, 45, son of Latif Mia of Soni area, succumbed to his injuries early Friday while undergoing treatment at a private hospital in the capital.
Locals said Nurul was struck by his uncle Abdul Hashem and cousins with lethal weapons on March 16 while he was going to mosque for Fazar prayer following an altercation with his uncle on March 15 over fishing.

Later, family members rescued him and took him to a private hospital of Dhaka where he died under treatment on Friday's morning.

Dipok Sondro Saha, officer-in-charge of Rupganj Police Station, said the body was sent to Dhaka Medical College Hospital morgue for an autopsy.

One of the accused named Babu has been arrested and attempt to arrest others are ongoing, he added.
