Youth killed in road mishap at Daulatpur

DAULATPUR, KUSHTIA, Mar 20: A young man was killed and another seriously injured in a road accident in Daulatpur Upazila of the district on Tuesday night.
The deceased was identified as Hridoy, 20, son of Laskar Ali, a resident of Aria Pashchim Para Village in the upazila.
The injured person is Nishat Ahmed, 16, son of Ziaul, a resident of Aria Mandal Para area.
Police and local sources said a motorcycle carrying the duo hit a roadside tree after losing its control over the steering in Kamarpara area of Aria at night while giving side to shallow-engine-run vehicle (locally known as algamon), which left Hridoy dead on the spot and Nishat seriously injured.
Being informed, police recovered the body of the deceased and sent it to Kushtia Medical College Hospital morgue for an autopsy.The injured was rescued and taken to Daulatpur Upazila Health Complex first, where the on-duty doctor referred him to Kushtia Medical College Hospital for better treatment.
Officer-in-Charge of Daulatpur Police Station Rafiqul Islam confirmed the incident, adding that a case was filed in this regard.
