Minor child drowns in Hathazari

A minor child drowned in a pond in Chattogram's Hathazari upazila on Sunday afternoon.

The dead was Hafsa, 2, daughter of expatriate Abul Hossain, a resident of Gumanmardan union's Ward No-4 under the upazila.

Locals said the baby slipped into a pond next to their house while she was playing near its bank.

Later, family members rescued the child and took to Chattogram Medical College Hospital where she was declared dead.
