N’ganj-2 Trinamool BNP candidate withdraws candidature

Abu Hanif Hridoy, the Trinamool BNP candidate for Narayanganj-2 (Araihazar), on Saturday withdrawn his candidature from the election race alleging a lack of fair polls environment.

He made the announcement at a press conference at Narayanganj Press Club on Saturday.

Hanif withdrew his candidacy showing the reason that he received threats from a local member of parliament and lack of support from the administration.

In a written statement, Hanif mentioned that from the beginning of the election campaign in Araihazar, the 'boat' candidate Nazrul Islam Babu MP has threatened and insulted him several times.

He alleged that even after complaining to the Election Commission,  he did not get any solution. And no one was interested to be his polling agent due to the threat.

Hanif is also a candidate in Dhaka-5 constituency. He said he will still participate in the polls for this seat.
