A divisional employment fair was held in Rajshahi city on Tuesday to empower the backward communities.
The fair was inaugurated at a convention center in Kadirganj area of the city in the morning organized by 'Kawke Bad Diye Noy Jot Rajshahi' with the support of Wave Foundation.
Habibur Rahman, former Principal of Rajshahi College, was present as the chief guest at the opening of the fair and inagurated it presided over by Akbarul Hasan Millat, Vice-President of 'Kawke Bad Diye Noy Jot Rajshahi'.
The Vice-President of 'Kawke Bad Diye Noy Jot Rajshahi' Faizullah Chowdhury, Tanor Municipal High School Principal Rabiul Islam and Maryam Begum on behalf of Bangladesh Women Chamber of Commerce and Industry were present as special guests at the programme.
Bimal Chandra Rajwad, general secretary of 'Kawke Bad Diye Noy Jot Rajshahi' delivered a welcome speech at the programme while Aniruddha Roy, project coordinator of Wave Foundation spoke on behalf of the project.
Under the project of empowerment of backward communities and active participation in Bangladesh development process in Rajshahi, a total of 13 business and development organizations' representatives at the local level and hundreds of job seekers from backward communities attended at the employment job fair.
