Left Democratic Alliance (LDA) has called  the ruling Awami League to start dialogue over the formation of a non-party supervision government resigning from power.

"Taking the future of the country's people and democratic future into consideration, the LDA makes a clarion call upon the government to initiate a dialogue with all political parties of the country for the formation of a non-party supervision government resigning from power," said Iqbal Kabir Zahid, LDA coordinator and Bangladesh Biplobi Communist League general secretary while addressing a press conference at Purana Paltan in the capital on Wednesday.
CPB president Mohammad Shah Alam, general secretary Ruhin Hossain Prince, Bangladesh Samajtantrik Dal (BSD) general secretary Bazlur Rashid Firoze, BSD (Marxist) coordinator Masud Rana, Ganatantrik Biplobi Party's Shahidul Islam Sabuj and Bangladesh Samajtantrik Party's executive president Abdul Ali, among others, were present.

It was also told at the press conference that the LDA would hold nationwide demonstration if the Election Commission (EC) announces the election schedule unilaterally.

At the same time, the alliance leaders, workers and all democracy-loving people of the country were urged to be readied to observe stricter programmes like hartal and blockade from the following day.

The LDA leaders also announced to continue countrywide demonstration from November 10 until their demands are not met.

In a written statement, the LDA coordinator observed that holding a fair election has become absolutely impossible due to lack of congenial atmosphere of the elections. Rather, the government has created a conflicting situation in the country ignoring the demands of the opposition political parties and public opinions ahead of the election. It has made the election very uncertain.

The LDA further said it is unfortunate that the ruling class of Bangladesh could not develop a democratic election system for holding a free, fair and participatory election  even 52 years after the country's independence. As a result, a conflicting and confrontational situation is created in the country ahead of the election after every five years. The situation this time is very deep and dreadful.
