Counter Terrorism and Transnational Crime (CTTC) unit have arrested Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal leader Amanullah Aman, prime suspect in the case filed over a police constable murder during a clash between BNP men and law enforcers on October 28.
Aman is the joint secretary of central JCD. He was arrested from Mohakhali Bus Stand area on Monday night, said CTTC) chief Md Asaduzzaman.
Constable Amirl Haque Parvez was killed as per top leaders' instruction. A group led by Aman attacked police on October 29 in the city's Fakirapool area and threw brick chunks at them. Constable Amirul suffered head injuries after being hit by a brick chunks and he fell down on the road.
Then the attackers beat up him and brutally hit him with sharp weapons, Asaduzzaman said at a press conference at DMP media centre on Tuesday.
Aman sent the picture to the high command after implementing the instructions. He also posted a picture on his Facebook with a stick after the murder, he said in primary interrogation.
