Woman killed, 8 injured in Narayanganj road accident

A woman was killed and eight others were injured as a truck overturned on a passenger bus on the Dhaka-Chattogram highway at Sonargaon upazila of Narayanganj district on Friday night.

The accident took place at around 8.30pm in Pirojpur area of the upazila.
The deceased was identified as Kanti Rani, 30.

Acording to locals, an overloaded speeding truck lost control and overturned on Tisha Paribahn passenger bus on the highway at around 8.30pm, leaving the bus passenger Kanti Rani dead on the spot and eight others critically injured.

Kanchpur Highway Police Station sub-inspector Shariful Islam said being informed, police seized the both vehicles involved in the accident and recovered the body from the spot.

The body was kept under police custody and the injured are admitted in several local hospital of the area, the SI added.
