Detective Branch of Police in a drive arrested an alleged drug peddler along with 1.5 kilograms of hemp from Dhaka's Dhamrai upazila on Monday night.
The arrested is Md Billal Hossain alias Billu, 36, a resident of Jhawbadha area of the upazila.
Detective Branch of Dhaka North Police officer-in-charge Riaz Uddin Ahmed Biplob said acting on a tip-off, a team of the force conducted a raid in Batulia area and arrested the man along with the drugs.
A case was filed with Dhamrai Police Station against him under Narcotics Control Act, the OC added.
