A 10-year-old boy was murdered by a man in Airport area of the city as he failed to rape the boy.
Additional superintendent of police Taposh Kumar Das confirmed the matter to the Daily Observer on Monday.
Police recovered the body of victim Ahad from the area around 8:30pm on Sunday and sent it to Dhaka Medical College Hospital morgue.
A case was filed with Airport Police Station on Sunday afternoon.
Police, later, arrested accused Ali Rubel, 25.
During the initial interrogation, Rubel said he was drug addicted when he tried to violate Ahad.
As the victim tried to stop him, Rubel hit on Ahad’s head with a brick, leaving him dead.
