Four trucks of date expired medical kits seized, 9 held

Four trucks of "unauthorised" medical goods, coronavirus detecting expired kits and reagents have been seized by Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) in Dhaka.

Nine persons have also been arrested on charge of their involvement in selling and marketing the goods.
RAB-2 media officer Abdullah Al Mamun said a team of RAB-2 raided three offices at Banani and Mohammadpur throughout the Thursday night.

The offices were Biolab International, Hi-tech Health Care and Exon Technology and Services Ltd. These were involved in the selling and marketing the date expired kits and reagents.

Mamun said some 12 tonnes of goods were seized during the raid. These included coronavirus, HIV and blood testing reagents. Many of the seized goods were found date expired and date was increased through tampering. Some were also found unauthorised .
