Covid infected Akram Khan hospitalized as condition worsens


Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) director and former Bangladesh captain Akram Khan has been admitted to a hospital in Dhaka.

He was admitted to Bangladesh Specialized Hospital at Shyamoli on Thursday (April 15) afternoon after his physcial condition was deteriorated.
Akram Khan was infected with the deadly virus on  April 9. Since then he had been at his residence in isolation.

On April 10, Akram Khan told journalists that he had been suffering from cold and throat pain for several days. He gave his sample for Covid-19 test on April 9 and learnt that he was infected with the virus.

Sabina Akram, wife of the former Bangladesh Cricket Team captain said that he was taking treatment staying at home. But, doctors reported that 30 per cent of his lungs got infected. However, the oxygen saturation level in his blood is satisfactory.

The 52-year old, who played eight Tests and 44 one-day internationals for Bangladesh, is currently under care of Dr. Mohiuddin at the hospital.
