First ambulance donated by India reaches Benapole

An ambulance donated by India to Bangladesh on the occasion of the birth centenary of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman entered Benapole land port in Jashore district on Sunday evening.

India is set to donate 109 ambulances to Bangladesh on the occasion.

The rest of the ambulances are expected to arrive in phases before and after Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi's visit to Bangladesh.
Narendra Modi will formally hand over the ambulances to PM Sheikh Hasina during his trip to join the celebrations of Bangabandhu's birth centenary and the golden jubilee of Bangladesh's independence.

This ambulance has the capacity to carry cardiac patients -- with ventilation facilities.
