JUST student suspended for derogatory comments about prophet
Jashore University of Science and Technology (JUST) authorities have suspended a student over derogatory remarks about Prophet Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH) on social media.
The university admission suspended Mithun Mandal, a first year student of Finance and Banking Department, at an emergency meeting on Monday morning, said public relations officer Abdur Rashid.
Mithun have also been served show-cause notice seeking explanations as to why he will not be permanently expelled from the varsity.
The authorities also decided to file a case against him under conventional laws, including the Digital Security Act.
A four-member probe body has also been formed to investigate the matter and It was asked to submit report within seven working days.
Final action against Mithun will be taken upon receiving the report.
