Former SP of Narayanganj and Gazipur districts Mohammad Harun-ar-Rashid has again been transferred to the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP).
He was transferred to the Police Headquarters' training reserve (TR) removing him from Narayanganj on November 3 last year.
Five police officials including a DIG were transferred on Thursday at the directive of the Ministry of Home Affairs. Those police officials also included Harun-ar-Rashid.
DMP Police Commissioner will decide what would be the responsibility of SP Harun in DMP. There are 57 posts of deputy commissioners in the Dhaka metropolitan city.
Harun also served in the DMP earlier. He served as deputy commissioner and additional commissioner in Lalbagh.
He came under strong criticism for his partialty during the general elections, torture on opposition leaders and activists, and involvement in extortion when he served in the DMP, Gazipur and Narayanganj.
