Triangular collision kills 6 in Tangail

Six persons including a man and his daughter were killed in a triangular collision of a truck, auto-rickshaw and a private car in Mirzapur upazila of Tangail on Monday morning.

Of the injured, three are in critical condition at Mirzapur Kumudini Hospital, the hospital sources said.
The deceased were identified as Hridoy, 18, son of Khalil Miah, Sonam Uddin, 60, Mashraful, 8, son of Hashem Ali, Jakir Master, 45, Hafiz Uddin, 60, and his daughter Renu Akter, 30. All of them were the passengers of CNG-run auto-rickshaw and residents of the upazila.   

Eyewitnesses said a sand-laden dump truck smashed the auto-rickshaw in Bottoli area around 10:30am while trying to overtake it. After that, the truck collided head-on with a private car.

Two passengers of the auto-rickshaw died on the scene while another one on way to the hospital. Three other passengers succumbed to their injuries at the Kumudini Hospital.
