The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has sued a former store and purchase officer of Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) on charge of embezzling around Tk 65 lakh.
The case was lodged against Abdul Malek with with ACC coordinated district office Dhaka-1 on Sunday, confirmed public relations officer of the commission Pranab Kumar Bhattacharya.
The case statement said Malek misappropriated about Tk 65.33 lakh through misuse of power and breaching of trust while performing duties between 2011 to 2014 that is punishable crimes under section 5(2) of the Corruption Prevention Act, 1947 and section 409 of the Penal Code.
