A man and his wife were killed in a head-on collision between two motorcycles in Naogaon district on Wednesday. Two more people were injured in the accident.
The accident took place around 10:30 am at Shahapur under Naogaon Sadar Upazila on the Naogaon-Bogura highway.
The deceased were Anamul Haque, 40, hailed from Akkelpur upazila in Joypurhat, and his wife Bristi, 32. The couple's five-year-old son Junaid Islam and another motorcyclist were injured in the accident.
Locals said that the husband and wife with their children were going to Santahar in Bogura from Naogaon riding on a motorcycle. When they reached the spot, another speeding motorcycle coming from the opposite direction lost control and hit them. Meanwhile, when they fell on the road, a pic-kup van coming from behind ran over them. They died on the spot.
Later, their injured child and other motorcyclist were rescued and sent to Naogaon Sadar Hospital.
