Youth killed in firing during clashes in Narsingdi
A youth was shot to death and 10 others were also injured by bullets at Raipura upazila in Narsingdi district on Wednesday morning.
Mason by profession, deceased Sagar Mia, 20, was the son of Zainal Mia, an inhabitant of village Sonakandi.
According to local people, Rajib Sarkar of village Nilokkha has been had loggerheads with Anwar Sarker for a long time over establishing supremacy.
On Wednesday morning, Rajib's followers, equipped with lethal weapons, attacked Birgaon, Sonakandi, Amirabad and some other places. Then a clash ensued between the two feuding groups.
Several people were injured by bullets at that time. Of them, Sagar succumbed to his injuries on the way to Narsingdi Hospital.
The injured are receiving treatment at different hospital to avert arrest.
Additional police members were deployed to avert further clash, said Afsan Al Alam, assistant superintendent of Narsingdi police.
