Youth killed in Magura AL clash

Magura: A young man was killed and 10 others injured in a clash between two groups of Awami League at Rajapur village in Sadar upazila on Sunday morning over union parishad election.

The deceased was identified as Riadul Islam, 26, son of Jamal Sheikh.

Sudorshon Kumar Roy, additional superintendent of police, Magura, said there had been a conflict between two leaders of AL--Chand Ali Biswas and Yousuf Ali-- over union parishad election.

Centring this, the supporters of Yousuf attacked the supporters of Chand Ali on Saturday afternoon.

For taking revenge, Chand Ali’s men attacked the house of Jamal Sheikh, a supporter of Yousuf, in the morning.

The attackers stabbed Riadul, leaving him dead on the spot.

Later the two groups locked in a clash that left 10 of them injured.

Meanwhile, at least five houses were also vandalised during the incident.

On information, police rushed to the spot and brought the situation under control.

They also recovered the body.
