Over 100 detained in special crackdown at Mohammadpur, Adabor

Police conducted a special drive against extortionists, teen gangs and drug traffickers in the Mohammadpur and Adabor areas of the capital, detaining more than 100 individuals.

The Mohammadpur Zonal Team under the Tejgaon Division of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) carried out the operation from 10PM on Wednesday until 2AM on Thursday.

Tejgaon Division Deputy Commissioner Ibne Mizan said, the drive was conducted to ensure public safety during the Ramadan and to facilitate the peaceful celebration of Eid-ul-Fitr.

The detainees were taken to respective police stations for further legal proceedings.

Police said such operations will continue to maintain law and order.
