Khaleda Zia remembered as symbol of leadership, moral integrity: JU VC

Jahangirnagar University (JU) Vice-Chancellor (VC) Prof Mohammad Kamrul Ahsan paid tribute to former Prime Minister and BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia on Thursday, describing her as a symbol of unwavering leadership, political civility and moral integrity.

Speaking at a discussion titled “Uncompromising National Leader Begum Khaleda Zia: Life and Works” at the Zahir Raihan Auditorium, VC highlighted her personal and political struggles, her role in institutionalizing parliamentary democracy and her diplomatic contributions. He also praised her message of unity and non-violence during the 2024 mass uprising.

Prof Ahsan urged the new generation of political leaders to prioritise honesty, patience and service to the nation. The program concluded with prayers for Khaleda Zia’s eternal peace. Earlier, a mourning rally was held on campus by the Nationalist Teachers, Officers and Employees Forum.
