Two children died after drowning in a pond at Lalmohan upazila in Bhola district on Saturday.
The deceased were identified as Md Minhaj, 2, son of Hasnain and Nafiza, 2, daughter of Sohel, both were residents of Charkalachad area under the upazila. They were cousins in relation.
According to locals, Minhaj and Nafiza left home without noticing anyone on Saturday afternoon. Family members started searching for them.
After searching for some time, two children were found floating in the pond adjacent to the house.
They were quickly rescued them and took to Lalmohan Upazila Health Complex where on-duty doctor declared them dead.
Confirming the incident, Lalmohan Police Station officer-in-charge (OC) Md Sirajul Islam said that bodies have been handed over to family.
An unidentified death case has been filed in this regard, OC added.
