As per pre-announcement of road blockade, the students of Government Titumir College blocked Gulshan Link Road putting a barricade, halting vehicle movement on both sides.

Around 12:20PM on Monday, demanding the upgradation of the institution to a university, several students halted the movement of the vehicles placing a bamboo on the street.

They are found using microphones announcing that no vehicles, except emergency ones, would be allowed to pass until their demand was met.

Meanwhile, six students are continuing their hunger strike for the sixth consecutive days in front of the college gate.

The vehicle movement towards Mohakahli-Gulshan was suspended following the blockade.

But there found no presence of law enforcement agencies.

The students had initially planned to start their blockade programme at 11AM, but it was delayed due to Saraswati Puja celebrations on campus, said Mainuddin, a master's student of the Economics department.
