After nearly two hours of blockade, students of Government Titumir College protesting for university status have vacated the Dhaka-Mymensingh highway.

At around 8 PM on Sunday (February 2), the protesters lifted the blockade and marched back to their campus. However, they have announced that the next course of action will be declared at 11 PM.

According to Titumir Oikko, a student organization from the college, an urgent press conference will be held at 11 PM to announce further plans.

Earlier, at 6 PM, students launched the blockade under the banner "Barasat Barricade to North City" in response to Education Advisor Professor Dr. Wahiduddin Mahmuds statement that "There is no scope to grant special privileges to Titumir College."

Meanwhile, Dhaka Metropolitan Polices (DMP) Gulshan Traffic Division has confirmed that vehicular movement has resumed following the withdrawal of the protest.
